Formulas can be provided several different ways. The most effective formulas are made with raw herbs. This is also the most time consuming for you as the herbs must be boiled before you drink the broth.
Next most effective is the freeze dried powder form. This is easier to use and requires little preparation. Just add to hot water and drink.
And finally formulas can be made into capsules or pills. Because there is more processing involved in making capsules and pills, this form is least effective but most convenient. That means that getting your body back into balance may take a little longer.
